Building the City

Kindergarten has been lucky to witness the actual construction of a building right across the street from our school! We watched as the workers demolished the old building that was there and built and poured the new foundation for the new one.
As each week passed we learned all about what it takes to build a building. We spoke about architects, blueprints, electricians, plumbers and so much more.
Our class viewed the site every so often, taking pictures and coloring what we saw during each visit. Our drawings were kept in a folder labeled "Building the City", which was sent home on the last day of school. The photos we took during each visit was posted on a timeline in our room. We loved seeing the transformation week by week.  Kindergarten will be so excited to return in September to see where the building is up to.
