CHOLAM
Cholam is a ball on top of the letter Vav. It is like the ball hit the head of the Vav and the poor Vav is saying 'Ohh'. When we see the Cholam sound, it is round, we make our lips round just like Cholams shape. It helps us remember the Oh sound it makes.
We passed a small ball around the circle and everybody had a chance to drop the ball on their own head and pick a letter to join with cholam. Morah started by dropping the ball on her head and saying Cholam, Beis Boh. The next friend chose Lamed and dropped the ball on his head, saying Cholam, Lamed, Lo.
Everybody had to pick a different letter than the friend sitting next to us chose We all prepared our mouths in the o shape as the cholam ball came around to us.

We thank all of our upper school buddies for joining us on Wednesday mornings for center time. It is so much fun to work with an older student when we have the chance. With
Shoham we made cholam reading charts and decorated our own cholam puppets. We played cholam bingo with Miriam Golda and Daniel. We also played board games where we had to collect and read as many mixed up flash cards as the dice said.
