FESTIVAL FLASHBACK
Tu Bishvat
The festival of trees was celebrated last month on the 15th of Shevat. Kindergarten learned a Hebrew song about the almond trees blossoming, the birds emerging and the sun shining. Each student made a hat depicting their favorite part of the song and it was performed in front of the whole school.
Tu B'Shevat is the day when Hashem decides how much fruit each tree will give and it is like their special Rosh Hashana.
We ate cupcakes placed in the shape of a tree and tried each one of the Shivas Haminim special 7 fruits of Israel that Hashem blessed the country with.
Even now, whenever a Kindergarten friend brings one of them in for snack, they are very excited to say the bracha and point out they have one of these 7.
Wheat
Barley

This group created hats to be birds chirping from the rooftops. |
CHANUKKAH
It was so great to see you all at our Chanukkah performance, we are sure you got so many wonderful photographs of the star performers in Kindergarten.
Below are some more to add to your collection.
Thanks to all the children who brought in special Chanukkah items from home such as menorahs, books, pictures, games and dreidls.
The Olive Press came to visit and we all saw how olive oil is made and how it was made back in the times of the Chanukkah story.
We all enjoyed playing dreidl with our friends and practicing for the Chanukkah Show

Hope we win the dreidl game! |
