A Good Writer Matches his Picture to his Words

We learned that books have a front and back cover and what a title is. We also learned the difference between what an author does and what an illustrator does. Kindergarten talked about the importance of an illustrator working with the author making sure the pictures he draws matches the words the author wrote. Morah demonstrated this at the board. The class created a story and as they spoke, Morah drew a picture. The class noticed the picture did not match the story they told. We tried again, finally illustrating the story they told. The children made pictures at their desk and Morah wrote the story they were trying to portray on their pictures. We then met in a circle to show our friends.
