Handwriting-Frog Jump Letters

In handwriting, we continue with our Frog Jump Letters. These letters are F, E, D, P, B, N and M. They are called this because when making them, we start at the top line and make a big line down. We then "frog jump" back to where we started to continue creating the letter. The children learned if they don't frog jump, then the letters will not be created correctly.
Each lesson is started off with the children at the rug. Morah demonstrates at the board how to created the letter. Then we put on our CD with music for the lesson and the children create the letters in the air while dancing.

Then the children go to their handwriting centers. Below the children are creating the letter N. They are using chalk boards, sentence strips and workbooks. The children are also using writing boards to copy lists. This helps build their recognition of words and letters. The children have learned we can write lists for many reasons. Maybe they can help you at home!
