Playing with the Letters of Our Names

Morah started the lesson reading, Mathew A.B.C to the class. The book is about a teacher who has 19 students all named Mathew and how she uses the first letter of their last names to remember character traits about them.

We are learning how to manipulate the letters in our names and create new words using each letter in our name. Morah first demonstrated this at the board, then the children returned to their seats to practice this idea. They also drew pictures of the words they created.

This was a rough version, we practiced writing the words down as well as across. The final draft is written the correct way, across and is going to be made into our first kindergarten book! We are so excited to see the finished version!
